First off, let me express my most humble gratitude towards Ruth and Ted for the amazing tribute post they each surprised me and the rest of you with yesterday. I was humbled, shocked, amazed.

Now, onto Turkey Day! Yes, I know I've committed a cardinal sin set by my own standards by using the same song twice - but hey - it was too perfect. Anyway, Thanksgiving Day is here and this poor birdie is officially in the 'defrosting' state getting ready face its ultimate demise. [I know it's already dead.] I'm here at my parents house for the occasion and we'll have a nice eight person feast. All the standards will be on the table. For a listing of that, check out the 'tags' at the bottom. Happy Thanksgiving to those who are observing. Cheers.

Powered by Photoblog.com

This is the wonderful, 24-Hour retailer 'Target'. Yep, I'm back to photographing inside stores. [Jennye can tell you why they are so wonderful]. Anyway, not too far off from the subject matter of this post, Target was clearing out their Halloween stuff to make room for all the X-Mass goodies. I wonder where all the candy that wasn't sold went... Cheers.

Ah yes, I knew I'd find some one or some place that has the spirit! Enter Lenny's! I mean Denny's! [Old TV spot/joke. Sorry.] Anyway, I woke up this morning having dreamed of fluffy pancakes and eggs, so I stepped into this fine establishment which was not at all ashamed to express their joy for the great holiday of Thanksgiving. Actually the entire restaurant was decked out - I just really didn't want to scare the other customers by flicking around the place. Cheers.

[I know Thanksgiving is an American/Canadian holiday - just bear with me.]

It seems that as soon as Halloween is over, retailers get all giddy about the rest of the year and the 'big one' in December. But in the case of this store, what the heck happened to Thanksgiving?! [My favorite culinary holiday of the year!] While I admit this is a very nice artistic creation that clearly took a lot work and skill, they've neglected another major one. I'm off to Walgreen's for my Flu shot instead now. Cheers.

While we were driving up to Winston-Salem, North Carolina we saw a major change in weather. These four shots represent the change by way of our trusty in-car gauge. Yep, the trip was a success! It was nice a cool as soon as we left Florida and that was great. As for the game we went to see - the team I was rooting for [Miami] was getting killed most of the game and somehow managed to come back in the second half and win 28-27. It would have been a very, very long 830 miles back to South Florida had they lost.

As for the shots you see, the weather was not great in Winston-Salem; it was overcast and really everywhere we went, it was less than favorable for photo-taking. I know, lame excuse. Anyway, I never took out my DSLR, instead I ended up with shots from my little P&S. I've edited them as much as I could to take away the depressing looking they had when I uploaded them to my puter. Cheers.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I'm back ya'll! The weather wasn't pristine to say the least, so I never ever took out my DSLR. Instead, I used my little 'point n shoot' exclusively and the results are not 'too' bad. I'm still going through which shots I would like to post; I'll probably divide them into two different posts in order to stretch it out. Stay tuned.

For now I offer you these three big turtles. I shot this one back circa 2005 when I was working for an art school as an in-house designer here in Miami. We were shuffled to a corporate 'all-staff' meeting once a year off campus and 'that' year we went to the very neato 'Jungle Island' near downtown Miami. I strayed away from the group and took some shots - since I was also a self-proclaimed historian of the school. Cheers.
